My first visit to Tokat that coming here for recording of “Gül Bahçesi” that is prepared for TRT BELGESEL channel and I spend very big part of my time at Almus and villages of Almus that is a district of Tokat. The team of this documantery came here for observing how people can live together with peace even they have different religions and traditions.
Anybody, in any villages of Almus, surprised when heared he question that is about explaining relations between Alevi and Sünni in Almus, even if he heared this question first time and replied there is no any relations between Alevi and Sünni because we are all one. Even if this reply very nice thing for me in that time suddenly I founded myself in a query and my brain said to me “Why we have to ride approximately 100 km for going to Sünni village from an Alevi village?”
Obviously, not living with together is a reason for building villages that are so far away from eachother. Finally the problem, that is not solved, is been ignored. In this way roads, villages, fountains seperated from eachother and finally everybody been same person in a village that living there.
The Anatolian culture shaped in my mind again that is liken mosaic for very long years thanks to Almus. We need to accept that there big and meaningless spaces between the patterns of the mosaic. Living together in Anatolia means that forgetting and move away from others.
